Development of South Africa’s emerging farmers to high quality commercial supplier status is integral to our principles of shared value and sustainable development. Through the Fair Food Foundation, the Company attracts partnerships and support to develop the necessary skills, equipment and capacity to identify, nurture and grow talent within our farming sectors. Offtake agreements with farmers, and long term active participation in the value chains drive this development approach.
The GlobalGAP accredited 20Ha Mariannhill research farm supports the practical elements of training and farming and the development of farmers, staff and interns in both vegetable and edamame planning, production, harvesting and processing elements.
Anchor training and commercial production farms are being established nationwide in collaboration with emerging farmers to meet offtake demand by The Fair Food Company.
